MCipher E-mail Usage!
--Please make sure you review the documentation provided
(cipher.doc) before reading this. A basic knowledge of MCipher
terminology and usage is required.
If you want to provide truly private email for yourself, your
organization, or your network, MCipher is the answer. Unlike some
encryption packages, MCipher encrypts into a straight readable ASCII
file that can be sent as the body of an email message.
When MCipher encrypts a file it puts a '' (ASCII #5, a "club") at
the beginning and end and of the ciphered text. When MCipher decrypts
it looks for these clubs to know where the ciphertext begins and ends.
This means that you can send MCipher encrypted email to a friend and he
can easily decode it. How? Once he receives his encrypted mail he can
just capture the screen to a file. When he runs MCipher on this file,
MCipher will search for the clubs () so that it knows which part(s) of the
file are/is ciphertext and which part(s) are/is plaintext. The decoded
file will look identical to the original but all ciphered text will be
deciphered and readable.

MCipher is just now being implemented into email security. If you are
looking to implement it in your network or are having difficulties
please feel free to call me at my BBS: (804) 285-3388 or by emailing
me on the Blue Ridge Express BBS at (804) 790-1675.
If you would like to include MCipher in any other piece of software
(such as in an email network system) please contact me and tell me so.
I ask this only as a courtesy so I know who's using my software and for
what.<g>
